Radically Loved® with Rosie Acosta

Hi I’m Rosie Acosta. I am a Meditation Teacher; Speaker and Author of You Are Radically Loved: A healing journey to self-love. I grew up in East Los Angeles during the 92 La Riots and it set me on a troubled path for many years. I didn’t grow up with mentors in my life, so I turned to reading as many books as I possibly could to learn about life’s purpose. In my journey as a First Gen-Mexican American, I found having these conversations gave me insight, support, and inspiration. So, I decided to create a place where I could share these conversations with my community. The Radically Loved Podcast was born! How do we create a radically loved life? Come have a sit with me so we can discover all things mindfulness, spirituality, self-love, and overall healthy living. Please be sure to share the episodes that you love and also leave us a review!

Sahara Rose is a Certified Ayurvedic, Holistic and Sports Nutritionist, and author of Eat Feel Fresh: A Contemporary, Plant-Based Ayurvedic Cookbook. Sahara is one of my all-time favorite guests and I’m thrilled to have her on the podcast again to talk about her beautiful book.

The Ayurvedic system has been the only system that works for me. Time and time again I turn back to it and it fixes whatever issues I’ve been dealing with. Sahara really gets into this system and how ancient Ayurvedic principles can work in your life today.

Sahara and I also chat about understanding your Dosha, what Panchakarma is and how it works, why we need to eat the six tastes of Ayurveda every day, the importance of adapting Ayurveda, and much more.

Radically Balanced Sahara

  • Feeling connected to her body for the first time through yoga
  • Going from junk food to raw vegan and finally finding balance in Ayurveda
  • Simplifying how to eat for your Dosha with tri-Doshic meals

Radically Inspired Clarity

  • Eating the Ayurveda six tastes every day will help prevent cravings. When you take out sweet tastes, that’s what you’ll crave in an unhealthy way.
  • Everything in life comes through flow and alignment. Pushing and forcing what you want doesn’t make it happen.

Sahara Rose Answers…

  • What led you to discover Ayurveda?
  • What do you hope people will learn from Eat Feel Fresh?

Radically Loved Quotes

“Ayurveda looks at the mind and body as interconnected.”

“When you dive deep into it, you see that Ayurveda is a living, breathing science.”

“For a lot of people, our spiritual journeys begin with food.”

“As women, we’re so focused on losing weight, but it doesn’t matter. Health is just the fuel that goes in your car. Really it’s where your car is going.”

Tal Rabinowitz is the Founder of The DEN Meditation, a peaceful meditation studio nestled in the busy city of Los Angeles. Tal left behind her life as an entertainment industry executive to share the gift of meditation with everyone. At her core is a focus on the importance of maintaining perspective, finding clarity, and staying true to one’s heart when it comes to handling a chaotic life.

In this episode, Tal and I talk about the path to creating an inclusive meditation space, dealing with triggers and staying ahead of reactivity, checking in with your gut instincts, and making changes to create a spiral of positivity.

Radically Instinctive Tal

  • Seeing self-care as moments of connectedness to the Universe
  • Releasing the guilt of ‘should’ to embrace what’s deserved
  • Creating meditation accountability and self-awareness in a chaotic life

Radically Inspired Clarity

  • Treat your life like it’s a company. Schedule everything out including meditation to keep the machine working.
  • Meditation isn’t a miracle cure. It’s to get to know yourself and do the work.
  • People are afraid to change because they don’t know what life would look like. In reality, it can all change tomorrow anyway. So why not take a risk?

Tal Rabinowitz Answers…

  • What creates reactivity in your life?
  • Why is meditation space important?
  • What pivotal moment shaped your life?

Radically Loved Quotes

“What meditation pushed further was the ability to honor myself and not worry about what anyone else thinks about that.”

“The more all of us meditate, the better it is for us as a whole.”

“A real friend should want to hear you out and understand you.”

“Life is like Frogger, it’s not always straightforward.”

A Little More About Our Guest

A casual course in meditation at her past employer, would make such an impact on her both personally and professionally that she went on implement a 20-minutes-a-day group meditation practice with some of her team. The overwhelmingly positive effects that developed for everyone cemented meditation as a central part of Tal’s life, and from there the idea of the idea of The DEN came to life: A comfortable, no-pressure environment with easy, accessible instruction to help both new and veteran meditators alike enjoy a beneficial, consistent meditation practice. Marisa Peer is a pioneering hypnotherapist trainer and best-selling author of four books. Her new book, I Am Enough, shares Marisa’s transformative work on self-worth. With this education, Marisa believes you can transform every area of your life, shatter all feelings of disconnection and low self-esteem, exude self-confidence, and discover your life’s purpose.

I’ve been following Marisa’s work for a long time. She’s had a big impact on my own path of self-development and I’m excited to share her latest work with you.

Marisa joined me to talk about how the world would be vastly different with self-worth education, how to truly have high self-esteem, the power of everything you say to yourself, and so much more.

Radically Transformative Marisa

  • Finding that feeling not enough is beneath most of our problems
  • Learning that every word creates a blueprint for our minds

Marisa Peer Answers…

  • What is our responsibility around self-esteem?
  • How do we know when we’re ready to change?
  • What’s the best way to connect with someone?

Radically Loved Quotes

“When did you decide you aren’t enough? There isn’t a baby on the planet that feels like they aren’t enough.”

“The unconscious mind has a belief that this illness or condition has a purpose. What we do is find that.”

“Human beings are not designed for modern life.”

“If you want someone to love you, fall in love with yourself.”
