Radically Loved® with Rosie Acosta

Hi I’m Rosie Acosta. I am a Meditation Teacher; Speaker and Author of You Are Radically Loved: A healing journey to self-love. I grew up in East Los Angeles during the 92 La Riots and it set me on a troubled path for many years. I didn’t grow up with mentors in my life, so I turned to reading as many books as I possibly could to learn about life’s purpose. In my journey as a First Gen-Mexican American, I found having these conversations gave me insight, support, and inspiration. So, I decided to create a place where I could share these conversations with my community. The Radically Loved Podcast was born! How do we create a radically loved life? Come have a sit with me so we can discover all things mindfulness, spirituality, self-love, and overall healthy living. Please be sure to share the episodes that you love and also leave us a review!

Yvonne Tally has spent over 20 years in health and wellness, working toward her mission of helping people develop their personal power and deploy their passion so they can live their most meaningful lives with more joy, happiness, and vibrancy.

In her new book, Breaking Up With Busy, Yvonne gives practical and mindful solutions for slowing down and enjoying life with a sensible balance of energetic wellness, spiritual connection, and methods for sustaining personal fulfillment.

I thought I was good with time management until I read Yvonne’s book. I felt like she was speaking directly to me and I’m curious if you’ll think the same.

Yvonne and I talk about why we need to look at the busyness in our lives, what is really making us feel that way, and what we can do about it.

Radically Vibrant Yvonne

  • Focusing her work on busyness after an unexpected panic attack
  • Developing an unbusy practice to stop rushing around
  • Finding solutions to disengage from artificial life and live vibrantly

Radically Inspired Clarity

  • We have to get underneath our busy behavior with deep self-reflection and an understanding of why we’re doing what we’re doing.
  • We need to learn how to portion our technology and create boundaries for the sake of our intimate relationships and environment.

Yvonne Tally Answers…

  • How does our current culture contribute to busyness?
  • How is technology affecting our lives and relationships?
  • What advice do you have for those who have to work long hours?

Radically Loved Quotes

“If we practice rushing, we get really good at it. We get into a familiar feeling, it becomes our juice to rush.”

“Busy is alluring. It gives us a sense of importance.”

“We’re trying to enhance the moment and make shifts that will enhance our lives.”

“You deserve this life to be the best it can be. It’s not something you have to earn.”

Andrea Ferretti is the host of the Yogaland Podcast and creative director for the Jason Crandell Yoga Method. She has lived yoga for decades and now shares the thoughts and ideas of leaders in yoga and self-awareness through her podcast.

I am a big fan of Andrea and all her work. I resonate so much with her and I’m excited to have her on Radically Loved to talk about what’s happening in her life.

Andrea shares how going through her illness was one of the best things that happened to her, how she’s navigating the world of parenting, the tools that helped her deal with depression and anxiety, and so much more.

Radically Awakened Andrea

  • Finding a passion and presence in the midst of treatment for breast cancer
  • Savoring the community of a podcast and sharing beneficial conversations
  • Cultivating relationships of trust to overcome difficult times

Radically Inspired Clarity

  • Be resourceful. You have resources, reach out and figure out what you need right now.
  • Part of the depression mantra is that you aren’t going to get better. You have to put that voice in the corner and still try to find what works.

Andrea Ferretti Answers…

  • What rituals have changed your yoga practice?
  • How do you respond to emotional challenges?

Radically Loved Quotes

“My yoga practice is non-negotiable. [I’m] remembering not to get too caught up in work.”

“Part of practice is to awaken you to your life. There’s nothing like going through a terminal illness to focus you on what’s important.”

“Finding resources requires a willingness to look for and accept help.”

“Our society has inclination to work hard just to work hard. Knowing your intention is important.”

Light Watkins is a Santa Monica-based Vedic Meditation teacher. He is an instructor for mindbodygreen and a fantastic Tedx speaker. Light has been meditating for almost 20 years and recently shared his wisdom in his new book, Bliss More: How to Succeed in Meditation Without Really Trying.

I’m so excited to share this conversation about one of my favorite topics with you. Light and I dig deep into the myths that surround meditation and how we can incorporate this incredible practice into our lives. I can’t wait to hear what you think!

Radically Meditative Light

  • Tapping into the relaxation response with the help of a Vedic Meditation teacher
  • Upgrading the nervous system with a daily inner stillness practice
  • Helping others discover the happiness they have within through teaching

Radically Inspired Clarity

  • There’s the science of meditation and there’s an art to meditation.
  • Meditation isn’t just for a certain group of people. It’s instantly accessible to anyone.
  • Kids learn meditation techniques so quickly because they don’t have preconceived ideas or stories.

Light Watkins Answers…

  • Is it important to learn meditation from a teacher?
  • What if you feel you don’t have time to meditate?
  • How does intuition play a role in our practice?

Radically Loved Quotes

“It was like discovering an ocean that you never knew existed.”

“Meditation is a generic term. Not all meditation is the same.

“Meditation allows you to tap into the still, small voice. With consistency, the still, small voice becomes a voice you can no longer ignore.”

“Your intuition will almost always point you in the direction of the unknown.”
