Radically Loved® with Rosie Acosta

Hi I’m Rosie Acosta. I am a Meditation Teacher; Speaker and Author of You Are Radically Loved: A healing journey to self-love. I grew up in East Los Angeles during the 92 La Riots and it set me on a troubled path for many years. I didn’t grow up with mentors in my life, so I turned to reading as many books as I possibly could to learn about life’s purpose. In my journey as a First Gen-Mexican American, I found having these conversations gave me insight, support, and inspiration. So, I decided to create a place where I could share these conversations with my community. The Radically Loved Podcast was born! How do we create a radically loved life? Come have a sit with me so we can discover all things mindfulness, spirituality, self-love, and overall healthy living. Please be sure to share the episodes that you love and also leave us a review!

Alex Doman is a leader in brain health, neurotechnology, and therapeutic music.

After meeting at PowerfulU, I knew Alex had to share his vast knowledge on the mind with all of you. In this episode, we talk about how our brain is wired for sound and how it changes our brain chemistry.

Radically Vibrant Alex

  • I am the third generation in my family to study the brain and how we can move past our own limitations
  • I still struggle with meditation, despite knowing everything that I do
  • In my relationship, we each give each other permission to be ourselves and to be patient with each other when doing so

Radically Inspired Clarity

  • Our current environment is creating adverse situations for our brain and it’s making it harder for us to be in a healthy mental space
  • We can shift our drug of choice from sugar to exercise, stimulants to meditation, etc.
  • When we find a place of homeostasis in ourselves we are ready to live a different version of our lives

Alex Answers…

  • When did you discover how sound affects our brain?
  • What was the most important lesson your grandfather, the first in your family to study the brain, taught you?
  • Are our limitations environmental or chemical?

Radically Loved Quotes

“Movement and sound integrate in our lives from the very beginning.”

“What’s going on in our world right now can be improved by active listening and brain contact.”

“All music is good and all music serves its purpose for each of us in its own way in a particular moment.”
