Radically Loved® with Rosie Acosta

Hi I’m Rosie Acosta. I am a Meditation Teacher; Speaker and Author of You Are Radically Loved: A healing journey to self-love. I grew up in East Los Angeles during the 92 La Riots and it set me on a troubled path for many years. I didn’t grow up with mentors in my life, so I turned to reading as many books as I possibly could to learn about life’s purpose. In my journey as a First Gen-Mexican American, I found having these conversations gave me insight, support, and inspiration. So, I decided to create a place where I could share these conversations with my community. The Radically Loved Podcast was born! How do we create a radically loved life? Come have a sit with me so we can discover all things mindfulness, spirituality, self-love, and overall healthy living. Please be sure to share the episodes that you love and also leave us a review!

Anna Yusim is the author of Fulfilled: How the Science of Spirituality Can Help You Live a Happier, More Meaningful Life. She is a Graduate of Stanford University and Yale University School of Medicine and a psychiatrist with a private practice in New York City.

In this episode, Anna explains what to look for when we’re manifesting something from Source, how our perceived reality is a tiny fraction of what’s really happening around us, and why forgiveness will set you free.

Radically Vibrant Anna

  • We are an imprint of the ancestors who lived before us, as well as our parents, and that brings positive traditions and habits as well as negative thought patterns that no longer serve us
  • We often ask the universe for such a specific request that something could be given to us that is so much better than we know but we miss it because our expectations are so narrow
  • We need to live our lives and know the right doors will open when it’s time—we’re not here to worry but to enjoy ourselves

Radically Inspired Clarity

  • Spirituality comes into our lives when we’re ready for it and only then will we see the opportunity for spiritual transformation
  • Ninety-nine percent of reality is unseen and unheard and only 1% is seen and heard from the conscious mind
  • People object the idea of forgiveness without realizing the person benefiting the most from it is us

Anna Answers…

  • How did you realize how important spirituality was in order for you to feel fulfilled?
  • How does our inner world connect to our ancestral imprints?
  • How were you able to integrate daily practice into your spiritual journey?

Radically Loved Quotes

“When we localize our power outside of ourselves and blame other people, we become a victim.”

“Once you transform your inner world, your outer world transforms by association.”

“There is nothing that could be a more inefficient way to live our lives than to be angry and resentful.”

Meditation practice helps us on many levels, from simple relaxation to freedom within the states of mental chaos so we can begin to learn the basics of meditation in a simple yet engaging setting. While meditation is often considered to be a state of being, a place to "get to," in actuality meditation is a process that can yield various states of being: relaxation, focus, clarity, etc. It's this sense of a deliberate and active process of awareness that characterizes our approach to building a meditation practice. This meditation is to establish a sense of grounding, we go through body scan, sensory awareness and intention setting.

Alexia Vernon is the author of Step Into Your Moxie: Amplify Your Voice, Visibility, and Influence in the World. She was branded the “Moxie Maven” by President Obama’s White House Office of Public Engagement for her approach to women’s empowerment. Alexia has been featured in CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, Forbes, Inc, European Business Review, and Women’s Health Magazine.

In this episode, Alexia talks about how to connect to your empowerment, what to do when our businesses aren’t working, and who you should take advice and mentorship from.

Radically Vibrant Alexia

  • When we hesitate to speak up for ourselves, we’re not defined by those moments—they are opportunities for us to move away from our fear and into our empowerment
  • Coming to meditation from a place of noise and insecurity makes us hit a wall so I add movement, get the blood flowing and then bring us back to that place of calm
  • We tend to pivot when our business isn’t working but what we need is to find the little piece that isn’t working and then change that

Radically Inspired Clarity

  • Recognizing the moments where we are in self doubt is the first step to living in empowerment and visibility
  • When we choose to serve, instead of seek ego driven external stimulation, our careers and lifestyles open up for us
  • Get feedback and mentorship from people who live the lifestyle you want because they’ll understand you on the level that you need

Alexia Answers…

  • How can we become more integrated with our feelings of empowerment?
  • What was the process of becoming a “moxie” look like for you?
  • Where should we draw the line when something in our careers isn’t going the way that we intended?

Radically Loved Quotes

“When we let go of trying to change what happens and instead reclaim how we choose to speak to ourselves and others around us, that’s what ultimately determines how the rest of the chapters are going to go.”

“The sensation of butterflies in our stomach is beckoning us into our next level of truth and visibility.”

“For me resilience is a core value.”

Nicole Huber is a former Paraguayan model and beauty queen. After winning Miss World Paraguay 2011 and Miss International Paraguay 2012, she decided to quit the industry in pursuit of self-discovery. Nicole is now a yoga teacher, health coach, and founder of Vida Zen, a mindful Spanish TV series.

In this episode, Nicole talks about her transformation from self judging adolescent to emotionally intelligent yogi. She also leads us through a self-love meditation to improve the awareness of our internal dialogue.

Radically Vibrant Nicole

  • When I was younger, I saw my value through what my body looked like instead of how much I was loving myself and how well I was taking care of it
  • A moment of self love can change your entire life as you are awakened to the choice of giving love to yourself
  • My health is always a sign to me of whether or not I’m listening to my body and to source, and when health issues arise I ask myself, “What am I not listening to?”

Radically Inspired Clarity

  • Our body isn’t something that needs to be changed and conformed, it’s a vessel that pushes us through life
  • Self love is when you feel from source your own divine perfection
  • Giving consciousness is the greatest gift we can give to others

Nicole Answers…

  • How did yoga change your relationship with your body?
  • What do you do when you feel distant from source?
  • How can we cultivate more self love?

Radically Loved Quotes

“Our purpose in life is to shine and be radically loved.”

“When we find something that helps us feel radically loved, we need to listen to it.”

“The love that I develop inside of myself is the only love that I’ll ever really have.”

Ashley Turner is a yoga and meditation teacher, licensed Marriage + Family therapist, facilitator, writer, and Priestess. She founded Yoga Psyche Soul—an Advanced Yoga Psychology Training for yoga teachers, therapists, and students. Ashley is also the co-founder of Urban Priestess, a school to empower women, and is the co-author of Aroma Yoga.

In this episode, Ashley explains how she stays transparent on social media, why she defines her goals as the minimum she needs—not the maximum that she wants, and why she’s isn’t in a rush for achievement.

Radically Vibrant Ashley

  • I don’t post anything on social media unless it’s adding value—inspiration, information, humor, or a community builder
  • I set a timer for myself so I know how long I’ve been scrolling on social media
  • Becoming a psychotherapist takes 3,000+ hours of working with clients—we understand the nature of the unconscious psychodynamics and that’s our value to our clients

Radically Inspired Clarity

  • We’re playing into this “not-enoughness” but...what if we switch the dialogue? Let’s redistribute that energy to practice contentment and practice non-striving
  • Seeking shortcuts removes the richness and wisdom that comes from embodying our lessons and being patient with our learning
  • A balance exists between an unhealthy social media routine and using it as a means to connect with our community and other entrepreneurs in our industry

Ashley Answers…

  • How do you stay mindful in the world of social media?
  • What values are we showing younger generations by showing them achievement on social media?
  • How do we cut through the noise of life coaches online and find true coaches that can provide value to us?

Radically Loved Quotes

“What is the minimum that you need to live off of? And let’s go with that as our goal or else we set ourselves up for things never being enough.”

“We are voraciously consuming information and it’s feeding the beast, creating an insatiable hunger in society. We have to switch the whole game.”

“As a coach, you can only take other people as far as you have gone.”
